The Design You Podcast - Let’s Create a New Business Paradigm - 1 hr, 1 min

Today’s Design You podcast is incredibly powerful & intimately personal for host Tobi Fairley. Here’s how Tobi describes today’s episode:

Hustling and trying to create financial success in my business led me to do a ton of damage to my health and well-being. The way I was striving for success would take a toll on any human body and is the reason why I’m now dealing with chronic pain. So this week, I'm sharing more about the consequences of putting myself through a system designed by men for men to succeed and why we need to be creating new business paradigms.

Resilient by Design - Let your vision inform your business with Natasha Ho - 57 min

In this episode, host Rebecca Hay had the opportunity to interview the fantastic PR Manager turned marketing and growth strategist AND phenomenal businesswoman, Natasha Ho!

Natasha helps creative entrepreneurs cut back on their working hours in half while doubling their income.

In this episode, Rebecca & Natasha talk about mindset and skillset and how you want both to hone in on what you're going to do so that you can do it with joy, and passion, and make more money!

About Natasha:

Natasha Ho is a woman on a mission to help entrepreneurs rapidly grow their businesses to six figures and beyond without grinding longer, working harder, or doing all of the things. She helps entrepreneurs tap into playfulness to elevate what they sell and how they sell it, so they can create massive visibility, and consistent sales, and have a whole lot more fun. Natasha wanted to crack the code on how to grow with more speed, simplicity, and joy for herself. So she studied and experimented with every marketing and sales strategy she could find. What she discovered is the key to rapid sales growth: you have to take the uncomfortable leap before you think you’re ready. Sell first. That’s how she created Sell Out Offers. She’s used this method to sell out cooking lessons, retreats, consulting services, and grow her business to six figures in the first year while working 20 hours a week.

Through the episode Rebecca & Natasha chat about her journey and how she's been able to bring forth all of the things she loves doing, like cooking, traveling, and hosting retreats, with her desire to help other entrepreneurs scale back their time commitment but still grow a business and an income! This episode is for you if you are tired of the constant hustle and want to take back some time for you to do the things you love without sacrificing the success of your business.

Dear Alice - Our 10 Principles of Styling Pt.1 | Edit, Blank Spaces, Focal Points, and Shelf Styling - 57 min

Dear Alice hosts Jessica Bennett & Suzanne Hall always say that the last layer is everything and that everything they do from plan conception all the way down to the last bit of styling, and even though it’s all important and critical to a beautiful space, this is the cherry on top, or the soul of the house.

This is one of those things that people either have or don’t and it’s really hard to just own your own styling, so you go find inspiration. Jessica & Suzanne get a lot of questions on styling in general, just on how you do it and how one styles because it’s something they teach you in school at all. This is often what separates the good from the great where the good designer might design well, but not style so well, but the great stylists will design and style well.

Highlights from this episode:

  • Styling can be hard to grasp 5:19

  • Edit 10:42

  • Blank spaces and when to use them 16:04

  • Focal points 20:44

  • Shelf styling 32:40

  • “When we’re trying to put things together that are gonna go on a shelf, if those things look great together, even on the floor, or when we’re pulling things from the show room, we’ll usually load everything onto this console in the design center conference room, if they look great together, they’re gonna look great together on a shelf. No matter where you put them, they're gonna look great in a room.” 14:57
