Designer’s Oasis - How to Raise your Rates without the “ick” - 26 min

Want to raise your design rates? Your costs have increased and it’s time you raise your rates to match this. It’s tempting to put our emotions into these decisions but today is all about sharing how to make this a little easier!

The Design You Podcast - The Loving Principles - 12 min

As we head into the holiday season, many of us are figuring out how to return to seeing our families for the first time in two years. This last year has been bumpy and uncomfortable for a lot of people as we’ve been navigating a “return to normal” that doesn’t really exist. There is a lot of uncertainty, and host Tobi Fairley wanted to address that in the podcast this week.

Lots of people are looking for a roadmap, and Tobi thinks that the only roadmap we ever really need is a roadmap of love. That’s why she’s sharing a framework she uses in her business called The Loving Principles. This framework allows Tobi & her team to see how loving we can be to ourselves and others as they build our business.

In today’s episode, hosts Mirjam Lippuner, Maria Martin & Jason Lockhart discuss curating your clients.

So, what does “curating your clients” mean? In the simplest sense, curating your clients means that you could/should tailor your business around the type of client you want vs the type of interior design service you offer.

For example, an affluent client with a family home, beachfront property & a winter/ski property provides three very different design opportunities. If you focus exclusively on renovating residential/family homes, you may be leaving money on the table. And what happens if they decide to build a new home?
